Interiors
Our firm is well grounded on a multi-disciplinary approach to architecture. This is especially true of our Interiors section, which has been a distinct specialty in our firm for nearly 20 years. We typically approach interiors in two ways. Firstly, the interior spaces can be an exuberant expression of the overall architectural theme, expressed most purely in single space or large volume buildings such as St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church or Egan Library. Secondly, the interior is an intimate dialog between building and user. How surfaces, light and textures help users "feel" in a building can be critically important to success of the building. The multi disciplinary approach taken by JYW ensures that the macro expression of space as well as the micro successes of a comfortable transaction counter, friendly lighting and an easily maintained floor are integrated through the design process and into every finished project.
